Before you enroll in EFTPS, you'll need to have the following information:
- Your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
- For businesses, this is your EIN (Employer Identification Number)
- The name of your financial Institution, Routing Number, Account number and account type (checking or savings)
- You will need to complete the name, address, and telephone number information on the New Taxpayer Enrollment Form.
All EFTPS materials and correspondence will be mailed to the IRS address of record. This is the address on file with the IRS as it appears on your tax returns or IRS documents.
You will need to input and verify all of the information. After all your information is validated, you will be presented with an Enrollment Confirmation page that includes an Enrollment Trace Number. You will be requested to print this page for your records.
After you complete your online Enrollment Form, Confirmation materials will be created and mailed within 15 business days to the primary contact name and the address you indicated. Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and instructions on how to obtain your Internet Password will be mailed to your official IRS address of record (this is the address that appears on your tax return or IRS documents.)
