Interest rates for personal loans are fixed at the time you open your account. Interest rates for lines of credit are variable and are based on the value of an Index plus a margin.  The interest rate is also affected by the loan amount you borrow or the credit limit on your line, and by whether you choose a secured or unsecured product.
