Don't confuse 'towing mileage' with 'distance to the disablement'. AAA will travel any distance to reach a stranded member, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Once there, AAA Classic membership provides free towing back to the responding station, or three miles of free towing in any direction from the disablement. That's sufficient to get you to a repair facility in over 90% of cases.
If you prefer to be towed to your favorite repair shop – and it’s located more than 3 miles from the breakdown – mileage charges of about $4.00 per mile may be incurred.
